History
In 2016, Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz launched a program to develop the next generation of leaders in science and energy, national security, and environmental management. This important program evolved into the Oppenheimer Science and Energy Leadership Program to introduce the next generation of DOE leaders to the breadth and depth of the National Laboratory system, expose them to the challenges and complexities of managing this system, and equip them with the knowledge, experiences and professional networks needed to succeed as DOE leaders. Now stewarded by the national laboratories themselves, OSELP continues to flourish with over 100 laboratory staff successfully completing the year-long program.Â
